Thank you so much the jr girls golf grant check in
the amount of $500. In November we will be entering our fourth year. We now have a couple of girls who are advanced enough where they will be joining Pacific Women’s Golf Association to keep track of their scores and hopefully will feel confident to join the school teams and play some competitive golf. I know I am preaching to the choir when I say we are making a difference in the lives of future girls sports with the mental discipline, true spirit and honorable traditions of the game. These values are essential to the development of our youth in preparation for their future. Sincerely, |

We will be using these dollars for purchasing supplies
in support of program training, snag equipment, range balls, refurbishing
old clubs donated for youth, and snacks and bottled water for the
participants. We have 450 kids at the William land Learning center
this year ages 5 to 12. Our coaches use snag equipment to get
them started and introduce them to the golf swing and rules. This
soft style golf equipment allows them to have fun and not endanger
other players while learning the game of golf. These
type of open dollars also go into an operating fund that allow us
to fund youngsters in the program if their parents are unable to
do so. We frequently run into parents in the south area that want
their kids to develop life skills and get into golf programs,
but simply do not have the funds. We fund this out of
generous support, such as provided by the PWGA. Thanks to the LPGA and organizations such as yours for providing a positive invite for young ladies in our community to take up this wonderful sport we know as golf. The First Tee of Greater Sacramento is all about developing youth character through the game, which provides many of life's lessons (Honesty, Perseverance, Sportsmanship, Confidence, Courtesy, Respect, Judgement, Integrity and Responsibility). |
