Most golfers play their whole golf career a Hole in one. Joyce Norman, a member of the Sierra Meadows WGC, at the age of 81 had her 11th . Joyce shot the ace at Sierra Meadows CC during the women’s club Championship on May 19th. Joyce has made 4 Holes in one in the past 5 years at Sierra Meadows Golf Course.
She had number 11 on the 17th Hole with her 5 Wood. Way
to go Joyce!

Our Junior Grants program was established in 2002 with a donation of $1000
annually from PWGA. Additional funds are raised through raffles at our
Spring Partners and Mixed Couples tournaments. In 2009 we awarded 25
grants of $500 to Girls High School Golf Teams. With budget cuts within
our educational system, these grants make a huge difference to these programs.
Thank you to the following Golf Course Facilities who donated rounds of golf
for our Junior Grants Program raffles.
We raised over $2100 at our Spring Partners Raffle and hope to raise even more at the Mixed Couples Tournament Raffle. Please support this worthy cause by buying raffle tickets at the tourney, or purchasing one of our 2010 PWGA Ball Markers at any of our area playdays.
Dear Dianne,
I just played in my very first PWGA Tournament at Spring Partners in Petaluma
and wanted to share with you what a great experience it was. Being a novice
golfer, I was a little worried that I had made a mistake in signing up
and that I would be way out of my league playing in such an event. However,
much to my grateful surprise, I could not have had a better time. Our
paying partners and the PWGA staff were all wonderful, courteous, patient
and very accommodating. It was truly an enjoyable way to spend two days.
Thank you for all the work you and the others do, I had a wonderful experience.

My Life Has Not Been Quite The Same,
Since I Chose To Play This Stupid Game.
It Rules My Mind For Hours On End,
A Fortune It Has Made Me Spend.
It Has Made Me Curse And Made Me Cry,
And Hate Myself And Want To Die.
It Promises Me A Thing Called Par,
If I Hit It Straight And Far.
To Master Such A Tiny Ball,
Should Not Be Very Hard At All.
But My Desires The Ball Refuses,
And Does Exactly As It Chooses.
It Hooks And Slices, Dribbles And Dies,
And Disappears Before My Eyes.
Often It Will Have A Whim,
To Hit A Tree Or Take A Swim.
With Miles Of Grass On Which To Land,
It Finds A Tiny Patch Of Sand.
Then Has Me Offering Up My Soul,
If Only It Would Find The Hole.
It's Made Me Whimper Like A Pup,
And Swear That I Will Give It Up.
And Take To Drink To Ease My Sorrow,
But The Ball Knows ... I'll Be Back Tomorrow.
Stand proud you noble swingers of club and losers of balls
A recent study found the average golfer walks about 900 miles a year.
Another study found golfers drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year.
That means, on average, golfers get about 41 miles to the gallon.
Kind of makes you proud. Almost feels like a hybrid.

While I was playing 9 Holes with my
Niners Group, my husband looked out the office window to see 3 bears
preceding us! We would have asked them to join us but they forgot
their clubs!
